This week the 8th Grade class had the opportunity to "travel" to Charlottesville, Virginia and visit Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, the home of our nation's third president. On this Digital Field Trip, students had the opportunity to hear about the life of Thomas Jefferson, his role in our nation's founding and expansion, and visit some of the spaces and rooms of his home on the mountain. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about Jefferson's life and about the artifacts they saw in the home, while a museum tour guide explained what they were seeing and what life was like on the plantation. We had a great visit and were very thankful for the interaction with the museum staff to teach us about Thomas Jefferson's life.

Student Council is hosting a Blood Drive in the Rocket Center this
Valentine's Day, February 14, from 11:00 - 4:00 PM. Community members are
welcome and encouraged to donate, as we earn scholarship money for our
seniors based on units donated! We ask that all community members park in
the green lot and enter through the main Rocket Center doors (past the
concession stand, as if they were coming to a sporting event).
"Give the gift of life" and support our students. We hope to see you there!
