Good evening! As a reminder, the district will be on a planned Two Hour (2) Delayed Start for tomorrow morning. Our staff members will be participating in professional development. November 26th at 5:30pm is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) workshop. Jason Maurer from Kent State will be with us to present the fastest and easiest way to fill out the FAFSA for your graduating senior. Many scholarships and all financial aid requires a completed FAFSA for students who will be attending college or tech school after graduation. This is FREE to our parents and a wealth of information to make this process as painless as possible. Please meet in the CV library at 5:30. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Middle School and High School Rocket Teams were challenged to a door decorating contest. The winner was Mrs. Clayton's team. Thank you to all who participated. The Government class had the opportunity to visit the Tuscarawas County Courthouse for Law Day. Law Day is sponsored by the Tuscarawas County Bar Association and organized by the ECOESC as an opportunity for high school students to learn about our country's judicial branch of government. This year, we had the chance to sit in Judge Michael Ernest's courtroom during actual court proceedings to experience what happens during a sentencing hearing. After the proceedings, students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what the judge's job entails. We are extremely thankful to Judge Ernest for allowing us to visit his courtroom, as well as the court administrator, Rachel Dunfee, for her presentation about the court system in Ohio.

Thanks to community involvement and the hard work of our newly established student council, a recent “Trunk or Treat” event held at the school was a huge success. The event, which was free to the community, hosted 20 vehicles that passed out candy, popcorn, and treats to over 200 costume-clad trick or treaters. Each vehicle decorated their trunk with a theme and the student council ran an assortment of activities including pumpkin ring toss and pumpkin tic-tac-toe. They also hosted two fundraisers; selling freshly-made hot chocolate and applying Halloween-themed temporary tattoos to trick or treaters. The student council plans to make this an annual event, celebrating the fall season with the community for years to come. #SOAR
